Beautiful and historic Aiken, SC is Southern Living’s “South’s Best Small Town” of 2018 and is home to horses and golf. Take a hike in Hitchcock Woods (one of the largest urban forests in the nation at about 2,100 acres), stroll through scenic Hopelands Gardens, experience an escape room, catch a show at the planetarium, or enjoy a plethora of local family and fine-dining options. Aiken is about 25 minutes from Augusta, GA and 50 minutes from Columbia, SC.

The SAA does not run the workshops and summer institutes; it approves separate businesses to run them. For specific information on schedules, enrollment, pricing, housing, etc. please contact sponsoring organizations directly with inquiries.
