Since 1976, the John J. Cali School of Music Extension Division (formerly the Preparatory Center for the Arts) has provided musical education for all age groups, backgrounds and levels of ability. We encourage creative growth and a life-long understanding of and appreciation for the musical arts. Our programs serve beginners of all ages, students seeking personal enrichment and enjoyment, and those pursuing comprehensive musical training leading toward careers in music. All students have the opportunity to share music experiences with professional artist-teachers, energetic-enthusiastic music majors, and members of the Cali School’s renowned faculty. Located on the Montclair State University campus in historic Chapin Hall, we offer unique resources for the study of music.
