Scholarships
GPSI Scholarships for Cello, Flute, and Guitar Students
For Students, Amount: Basic tuition of $200, Application due: June 1
We offer scholarships for cello, flute, and guitar students that enable 3 students of each of those instruments who have not received the scholarship in previous years to attend GPSI for $200. That would cover the basic tuition, including masterclasses, group classes, and one elective. There is an additional charge for extra electives. The scholarships are awarded in the order that completed registrations from those requesting them are received, and priority is given to students who are playing in the Suzuki books being offered in the teacher training unit courses. Call us at (412) 414-1156 if you are interested.
Housing & Meals
There is no housing available on campus but we have a special arrangement with a suite hotel within walking distance. Call for more information.
Meals are not available on campus but there is a dining area where participants can eat food they bring. We will sell snacks and drinks. Many restaurants are close to the school.
Recreation
There are many opportunities for visiting museums, attending sporting events, and sight-seeing in the area. The campus has a large outdoor field for games and a playground. There are public swimming pools close by where participants can swim for a fee each day. There will be electives scheduled during the Parent Education Seminar each day for the regular elective fee.
Other Info
Child care may be available if arranged well in advance. There will not be drop-in child care.
PLEASE NOTE: The Greater Pittsburgh Suzuki Student Institute begins in the afternoon of Sun., August 4, 2019. Registration will take place at noon and the first class will begin at 1:30pm. The Sunday afternoon activities are not optional but are regular classes.
The SAA does not run the workshops and summer institutes; it approves separate businesses to run them.
