Additional Schedule Information

This class is online and live. It meets on Friday mornings from 10:30 to 12:30 Chicago (CST), except for 11/26). There may be some additional times scheduled for personal consultations. Included, besides course work are: 2 book reports (Nurtured by Love and Ability Development from Age Zero), 2 wrap-ups (one Pre-Twinkle, one Book 1), and 2 practicals (one on set up, one to play book 1 from memory). It is part of the long-term teacher training program at Roosevelt University (live).

Prerequisite course:

Every Child Can!, or Filosofía

Audition: Cello Basic, or Cello Intermediate, or Cello Comprehensive.

Trainer Information

Tanya Carey

Tanya Lesinsky Carey, cellist, has presented master classes and concerts in over 15 countries and the USA. She was assistant principal of the Milwaukee Symphony, presented concerts in Tully and Carnegie Halls, performed concertos with orchestra, and made two records with the Lydian Trio with Almita and Roland Vamos. She and her husband released the CD Golden Celebration to positive national review. Her students have won prizes in major contests. She is author of Cello Playing is Easy; Artist Teacher at Roosevelt University and Music Institute of Chicago Academy; maintains a studio; and is a sought after clinician.
