Trainer Information

Kristin Jutras, Director of the UGA Community Music School, began studying the violin at age 5 in the Eastman School of Music Preparatory Department in Rochester, NY. She went on to receive both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in violin performance as well as a Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School and became a full-time member of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Chamber Orchestra, and Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.
Since moving to Georgia in 2006, Kristin’s focus has shifted to teaching using the Suzuki Method. In 2016 she was awarded a Certificate of Achievement from the Suzuki Association of the Americas, and in 2019 became a Suzuki Method Violin Teacher Trainer. She currently serves as a co-director of the Atlanta Suzuki Institute, and in Fall 2020, began teaching long-term Suzuki Violin Pedagogy courses at the University of Georgia.
