This course is designed to help teachers bring improvisation into the Suzuki studio. Course hours will be scheduled outside of regular class hours, in order to allow for participation by ASI faculty and those enrolled in core courses. We will offer an online option if there is a need for it.

Randal Harrison Hoecherl

Randal Harrison Hoecherl grew up studying with Margery Aber, founder of the American Suzuki Institute, where he had masterclasses with Shinichi Suzuki and many of the America’s pioneer Suzuki teachers. Other notable teachers include NEA Jazz Master Richard Davis and SAA teacher trainers Pat D’Ercole and Michele Higa George. Honored with composing, performing and recording awards, Randal is also past president of the Suzuki Association of Wisconsin, founder/director of ESTEAM and travels the world to work with students and colleagues—sharing ideas on improvisation and an eclectic mix of violin studies.
