Trainer Information

Kari Lapins started violin at 8 in the Suzuki Method in Flagstaff, Arizona. She holds a BA in Performing Arts Management (Columbia College Chicago) and an MM in Violin Performance/Suzuki Pedagogy (Northern Arizona University). She studied violin with Ruth Giauque, Louise Scott, Geoffrey Herd, and Phyllis Sanders. She studied Suzuki Pedagogy with Louise Scott, Karin Hallberg, Sue Baer, Teri Einfeldt, and Julia Hardie. She is a Music Mind Games Teacher Trainer for Units 1-2 and has trained extensively with Creator, Michiko Yurko.
Kari lives in Knoxville, TN. with her husband, children, and dogs. She teaches violin/viola, fiddle, group class, and Music Mind Games. She performs with several symphonies and the Irish session.
In Flagstaff, she taught violin/viola, group, fiddle, and Music Mind Games for NAU Academy, Suzuki in the Schools at Marshall Elementary, performed with Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra, Slugs from Space Quartet, and hosted a weekly Irish session.
