SUMMARY:Violin: Expanding Technical Foundations
DESCRIPTION:Expanding Technical Foundations for the Suzuki Violinist or Sequences on the Road to Flesch. \n\nThe prerequisites are ECC and Unit 1\, but ideally\, participants would have training through Violin Unit 6 or further.\nThere are 15 class hours + 8 hours of observing intermediate/advanced technique classes.\n\nThe foundations of tone and technique lie securely in the largely baroque repertoire of the Suzuki Violin School\, but students often need expanded technical and stylistic fundamentals to be secure in skills that are required in their musical lives. Likewise\, teachers need additional ideas to address the growing and changing needs of our students in today’s musical society. There are a plethora of materials but what are solid teaching and learning sequences from the beginning?\n\nIn this class\, sequences and materials regarding new concepts of teaching tone\, scales\, arpeggios\, shifting\, position work\, intonation\, double stops\, bowing and bowing styles\, etc. will be covered. Preparation ideas for key Suzuki repertoire technical challenges will be discussed. Join Winifred as she shares concepts and materials that will enhance and support the wonderful foundation of the Suzuki Violin School and broaden a student’s technical and musical base for the road ahead.\n\nThis class will be offered in a dual-delivery structure\, but all class members will need to have materials and instruments at hand in order to join us. The in-person choice is recommended if at all possible!\n\n\nYou must be logged in to your SAA account and have Active Membership to join the course roster below.  \nScroll down to the bottom of this page to the enrollment box\, click “+”\, then click “get tickets”. Follow the prompts to enter your payment information to pay the nonrefundable deposit fee.   \nYou will receive an email confirmation after signing up with instructions on how to pay the balance of the tuition.  You can also verify your enrollment from your profile under Upcoming Courses. \nIf the enrollment box isn’t visible and you only see the waitlist option\, it means you’re missing either an audition or a course prerequisite on your training profile. Please join the waitlist while you complete that class or wait for your audition results. You can check your training profile here to see what you are missing: https://suzukiassociation.org/person-profile/ \nIf you have any trouble enrolling here\, or if you wish to update your training profile with any missing courses\, please write to info@suzukiassociation.org.  \nAll transactions are final and non-refundable.
