SUMMARY:Virginia Suzuki Institute with Chamber Music and Jazz (adults welcome!)
DESCRIPTION:The Virginia Suzuki Institute is a great summer experience to enhance your musical education.  Parents attend the institute with students under 13 years of age.  Students are grouped with other students by playing level and age.  Students will have a daily master class (regular lesson with 2-3 other students in the lesson).  Students learn so much from each other as well as from the teacher.  They also have a large and small group lesson each day.  In addition to this\, students will have either an orchestra or music theory class depending on age and level.  Electives of Art\, Chorus\, and Sports and Games are also available. \nVSI welcomes adult learners into our regular Suzuki Institute classes.  Class schedules will include a technique class (small group)\, a repertoire class (play-in)\, a master class and orchestra at the level of their playing and reading.  Adults will have group classes and  orchestra with all ages of students.  Their master class\, however\, will be with other adults\, or as a private lesson.  We have had great success with incorporating adults into the Suzuki Student Institute. \nAdult Students interested in Chamber Music will have a master class\, a group or technique class\, and an orchestra class in addition to a chamber music class.  In the chamber music each person in a group will have their own part to learn ahead of time\, and when it is all put together\, the magic can happen and it will be an ensemble such as a quartet or trio. Adult students will have a master class with other adult students or as a private lesson. \nVisit our website for up-to-date  details\, pricing\, and scheduling.

SUMMARY:2025 FMI Summer Institute
DESCRIPTION:The Florida Music Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2014 with the purpose of hosting a yearly Suzuki Summer Institute in Florida. We serve Suzuki students and teachers in Florida\, and welcome participants from as far as Alaska and Latin America! \nAccommodation: We recommend searching online (Google\, Booking.com\, and Airbnb) for great deals and convenient locations. \nMeals: There are many dining options for all tastes and budgets just minutes from the Institute’s location. \nLeisure: \nOrlando is a magical place. And it’s not just because it houses Cinderella’s castle at Walt Disney World. There’s an incredible mix of fun things to do in this great city that makes it an ideal vacation spot for families\, foodies\, outdoor adventurers\, luxury shoppers\, and international visitors.****While the city was built on the fame of theme parks\, the number and variety of Orlando attractions have grown to include world-famous restaurants\, sophisticated shopping centers\, theatrical performances\, and amazing venues for concerts and sports events. (source: visitflorida.com) \nOther Information: \nThere is no other city in the United States – even in the world – that celebrates the spirit of childhood like Orlando\, Florida. The feeling you get when you see the light from the Spaceship Earth at Epcot Center\, or when you take your first sip of butterbeer in Hogsmeade – it all proves that being a child is a matter of mindset\, not age.****The notion that only the younger ones can enjoy the charms of this city is just that – a notion. In fact\, Orlando has a little bit of this and that to please all ages\, and there’s more to do here than just visiting theme parks. The subtropical climate is great for playing golf\, and the downtown landscape is too appealing not to be explored. (source: travel.usnews.com) \nDaily schedule includes: \n– shared lesson with students of similar ability level\n– group class with students of similar ability level\n– ensemble/orchestra class (music reading skills are required for participation)\n– bluegrass fiddling class\n– Performance opportunities on the second and third day of the institute
