DESCRIPTION:Every Child Can! (ECC!) is a non-instrument specific introduction to Dr. Suzuki’s philosophy and its application to Suzuki education. For parents\, teachers\, prospective teachers\, and others\, this course provides an inspiring\, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning. Teachers of all instruments are welcome.\nIn addition to exploring the elements of the Suzuki approach and its far-reaching goals\, it includes an introduction to learning styles\, history of the development of Suzuki education\, the role of parents\, the importance of Suzuki pedagogical training\, and an overview of the SAA’s role in supporting teachers and parents. A fast-paced\, engaging and thoughtful program\, ECC! includes video materials and SAA-developed materials and provides each participant with useful reference manuals for later study. \nFor teachers pursuing Suzuki training\, ECC! serves as the prerequisite course for all additional training in the Suzuki Association of the Americas’ Teacher Development Program. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Los Angeles Suzuki Institute! LASI is a family-centered summer music program for students\, parents and teachers of all ages and levels. Held on the beautiful Pitzer College campus\, LASI offers and inspiring and nurtering environment where musical and personal growth flourish. The Twinkler Program is designed for violin students who are brand new to the instrument or are currently studying Pre-Twinkle or Twinkler at their home studio. Students in the Foundational Program participate in semi-private lessons\, group classes and enrichment offerings such as fiddling\, orchestra\, or Dalcroze. PREP Program is for intermediate students\, with semi-private and group lessons\, chamber music experience\, and enrichment classes including orchestra\, fiddling\, or Dalcroze. Young Artists is for advanced students ages 13 & up. Young Artists receive chamber and esemble experience\, enrichment classes\, and coaching with our Guest Artist of the year. Parents are inspired as they observe their children learn from master teachers\, connect with other families\, and attend enriching parent talks. Teachers can register for SAA-approved training courses led by world-class Teacher Trainers and observe students working with renowned guest clinicians.
