Event Description
Every Child Can! an introductory course on the Suzuki philosophy and its application to education. For parents, teachers, prospective teachers and others, this course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning. For teachers, ECC serves as the first course in the Suzuki Association of the Americas Teacher Development Program. To learn more, read about the ECC course and its guidelines.

Trainer Information

Sharon Miller lives and teaches in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. She teaches violin and viola lessons for children and adults in Eastern Mennonite University’s Preparatory Music Program where she was the Program’s Director for nearly 30 years. During that time she helped to forge a partnership with Harrisonburg City Public Schools in order to provide string education in curricular and extra curricular classes. She also started and conducts the Junior Strings ensemble at EMU.
A registered Suzuki Violin Teacher Trainer, she has led teacher workshops throughout the US and in 2020 had the privilege of working with Latin American teachers at the Suzuki International Festival in Lima, Peru.
Ms. Miller was first exposed to Suzuki education in the Lynchburg City School system while studying music education at Liberty University. She received her M.Ed. (music) from Towson State University and M.M. (Suzuki Pedagogy) from East Carolina University.
