Two consecutive days, each day 2.5 hours— Saturday June 12 and Sunday June 13, 10:00—12:30 (EDT).

Event Description

For all SECE teachers, this course covers revisions to the SECE curriculum, which have been designed to enhance inclusivity.
All SECE teachers should be using the revisions in their SECE classes by January, 2022.
Prerequisites: ECC and SECE Stage 1.

Trainer Information

Wan Tsai Chen

Wan Tsai truly believes that everyone can help change the world in their own small way! Her passion in teaching is to encourage students to become compassionate people with outstanding characters, using music as the medium.

Her devotion has led her to be an active advocator of Every Child Can in the global Suzuki communities. She has been passionately teaching violin for over 30 years and Suzuki early childhood education (SECE) for over 20. Wan Tsai is currently the Artistic Director for the Suzuki Talent Education Society in Calgary, Alberta since 2001. She also serves on SAA Board, SAA and ARSA SECE Teacher Trainer, SAA SECE committee member. She has been a clinician and presenter at workshops and institutes worldwide.

She received her B.A. in Music Performance from the Chinese Culture University and her M.A. in Curriculum and Teaching from Michigan State University.

Lynn McCall

Lynn McCall was named the first, SAA, Teacher Trainer for SECE in the U.S. in 2015.  She received her Suzuki mentoring and training from Dorothy Jones and Leena Crothers. Director and co-Founder of Alyla Suzuki Early Childhood Music School in New Haven Ct., Founded as the pilot program in Ct. for Suzuki ECE in 2006. Her work involves creating SECE programs throughout the U.S. and Latin America. She has maintained an active piano studio, specializing in working with young children since 1995. Clinician for National and International teacher workshops and Institutes. 2013 SECE Faculty Suzuki World Conference in Matsumoto, Japan. Co-Chair of the SECE curriculum revision committee, founding member of SAA SECE committee, SAA Conference team coordinator. She is the proud mother of 2 grown sons and lives in Ct. with her husband.
