Additional Schedule Information

This course is offered both in-person at Stevens Point and online (in-person attendance is strongly encouraged and scholarship is available). Opening Ceremonies and TWP Orientation Meeting are on July 24). Pedagogy and observations will take place during the regular ASI class hours: 8-11 am CDT and 1-4 pm CDT. Other institute activities take place during the later afternoon and evening hours. Whether attending online or in-person, attendance at some of these events is strongly encouraged.

Event Description

Events such as recitals will be live-streamed for those attending virtually. Opening Ceremonies and TWP Orientation Meeting (required) on July 24. Registration opens in February.

Prerequisite course:

Cello Unit 2

Audition: Cello Basic, or Cello Intermediate, or Cello Comprehensive.

Deadline: All audition materials must be submitted by July 10 *

Trainer Information

Tanya Carey

Tanya Lesinsky Carey, cellist, has presented master classes and concerts in over 15 countries and the USA. She was assistant principal of the Milwaukee Symphony, presented concerts in Tully and Carnegie Halls, performed concertos with orchestra, and made two records with the Lydian Trio with Almita and Roland Vamos. She and her husband released the CD Golden Celebration to positive national review. Her students have won prizes in major contests. She is author of Cello Playing is Easy; Artist Teacher at Roosevelt University and Music Institute of Chicago Academy; maintains a studio; and is a sought after clinician.
