Event Description
This experiential class will enrich your playing and teaching skills, exploring how Alexander Technique relates to and enhances Suzuki-style pedagogy. Explore the connection between mind, body and art through games and group activities that can easily be taken home and shared with students and colleagues. Topics include basic anatomical design and Body Mapping, common ways we interfere with ourselves, and strategies that will bring more ease and poise to playing and teaching. We will cover essential information about sitting, standing, “good posture”, and how to prevent injuries and reduce fatigue. Come ready to play your instrument and discover new approaches to your art.
