This course is being offered to CIM Suzuki Pedagogy Students. Abbey Hansen ran this course a few weeks ago and she told me to have the CIM students register for the course on-line but pay me $50 directly. The $100 fee is for non CIM students who can also pay me directly. I will send payment for the books needed to the SAA through PayPal and the participants mailing addresses. I am registered to take to meet with Christie Felsing to learn about how to teach ECC on-line. Kimberly

Event Description

Every Child Can! logoEvery Child Can! an introductory course on the Suzuki philosophy and its application to education. For parents, teachers, prospective teachers and others, this course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning. For teachers, ECC serves as the first course in the Suzuki Association of the Americas Teacher Development Program. To learn more, read about the ECC course and its guidelines.

Kimberly Meier-Sims
Conservatory Violin faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Music, Head of CIM Suzuki Pedagogy and registered Violin Teacher Trainer through the Suzuki Association of the Americas. Ms. Meier-Sims conducts a graduate two-year Suzuki teacher training program at CIM which is part of the unique Master duo degree program in Violin Performance and Suzuki Pedagogy. Sato Center for Suzuki Studies director 2004-2022. Her violin professors include John Kendall (founder of the Suzuki Method in the United States) and Almita Vamos. Ms. Meier-Sims was the Coordinator of the University of Memphis Suzuki String Program from 1996-2004 and a violin instructor at the Preucil School of Music from 1984-1996. In the summer of 1986, she studied violin and pedagogy with Dr. Shinichi Suzuki in Matsumoto, Japan. Over the past thirty years she has worked with young students and teachers promoting the Suzuki Method of teaching at summer institutes and workshops.
