This level one course is integrated into the year-long guitar pedagogy course offered at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts for upper level college and graduate guitar majors. Currently UNCSA is offering in person instruction following carefully developed protocols under expert guidance of leading infectious disease specialists and in accordance with all CDC recommendations. Not open to public-not need to be published

Prerequisite course:

Every Child Can!, or Filosofía

Audition: Guitar Basic, or Guitar Intermediate, or Guitar Comprehensive.

Deadline: All audition materials must be submitted by January 29 *
*A discounted Audition Fee applies if audition is submitted before December 14. If submitted within 8-weeks of the course start date, the regular audition fee will apply.

Trainer Information

Joseph Pecoraro

Joseph Pecoraro is widely recognized as a performer, recording artists, author and teacher. He has performed as soloist with numerous orchestras and vocal ensembles, collaborated with dozens of prominent singers and instrumentalists, and given solo recital across the United States and abroad. Pecoraro currently serves as a member of the artist faculty at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and the Piedmont Suzuki Young Guitarists program in Winston-Salem, NC. He is also a trained teacher of the Alexander Technique. He is in frequent demand as a guest clinician, has served on the regular faculties of numerous summer workshops and directs the UNCSA Summer Guitar Workshop. He has taught guitar pedagogy courses as well as young students using the Suzuki method for over 20 years and is a registered teacher trainer in guitar with the SAA.
