Event Description
Class time 5 hours, 5-6 participants.
This course is intended for Violin and Viola teachers who would like to integrate both instruments in their studios.
The course will include ideas for:
—Combining violinists and violists in groups and concerts
—Supporting a small group of violists in a larger violin group
—Encouraging students to play both viola and violin
—Developing reading of both alto and treble clef
—Choosing fractional-sized violas and strings
Participants must have completed and registered Units 1 and 2 on Violin or Viola.

Trainer Information
Joanne Martin, violist, composer/arranger, violin and viola teacher trainer with S.A.A. and E.S.A., divides her time between Canada and France. She has taught, performed and lectured at Suzuki workshops and conferences around the world. Her most recent publications are string ensemble arrangements of Three Spanish Dances by Moszkowski, Brandenburg Concerto # 6 and several Offenbach pieces including the well-known Cancan.
