Event Description
Tracing the lifted bow stroke and its fundamental importance in Suzuki pedagogy from the earliest bow exercises, the introduction of circle bows, the development of the lifted stroke at the frog through staccato to collé and ricochet using examples from all levels of the Suzuki Violin School. The course can be focused on any/all levels of the repertoire depending on the needs of the participants.

Allen Lieb Is CEO of the ISA, Chair of the ISA & SAA Violin Committees & a registered SAA & ESA Teacher-Trainer. His primary instructors in Suzuki pedagogy were John Kendall and Shinichi Suzuki. Allen is Head of the Violin Department & Instructor for Teacher-Training at the School for Strings & violin Instructor at the Diller-Quaile School, both in New York City, & a consultant for VH1SavetheMusic Foundation.
