Event Description

This course is an overview of the technical exercises accompanying the repertoire in the Suzuki Violin School. Topics to include: source material for the exercises, a logical sequencing and introduction timeline within the repertoire, following the development of the early exercises through the upper books and how to adapt the exercises for practical use for the student’s home practice. The course can be focused on any/all levels of the repertoire depending on the needs of the participants.

Allen Lieb

Allen Lieb Is CEO of the ISA, Chair of the ISA & SAA Violin Committees & a registered SAA & ESA Teacher-Trainer. His primary instructors in Suzuki pedagogy were John Kendall and Shinichi Suzuki. Allen is Head of the Violin Department & Instructor for Teacher-Training at the School for Strings & violin Instructor at the Diller-Quaile School, both in New York City, & a consultant for VH1SavetheMusic Foundation.
