Event Description

There are many approaches to introducing a student to left hand playing, harmonic playing, and hands together playing at the piano, even within the Suzuki method. Success is a combination of technique, coordination, and ear. This seminar is a discussion of ideas as well as an offering of one approach that deftly brings balanced hands together in Suzuki Piano Book 1.

Aubrey Faith-Slaker

Aubrey Faith-Slaker , Nationally Certified Teacher of Music and Suzuki Piano Teacher Trainer, holds degrees in piano performance and piano pedagogy from the University of Illinois and Southern Methodist University, where she also studied organ and Music Therapy. Ms. Faith-Slaker has maintained teaching studios in Texas, Wyoming and Colorado. She has taught music theory, music history, chamber music, music appreciation and piano since 2000. Trained as a Suzuki pianist, she returned to teaching the Suzuki method in 2007 and currently teaches out of her home in Chicago and at the Music Institute of Chicago, offering private and group class instruction to children as young as three years old.
