Join Sarah Bylander-Montzka for Working with Parents: A Fearless Teacher’s Guide!

This lively exploration of teacher-parent relationships features a mix of powerpoint presentation, role playing, group discussion and paired breakouts combined with individual reflection and vision work.

We will consider topics including:

  • The role of empathy and cultivating an “API” (assumed positive intention) perspective
  • Tips for Hard Conversations: how to prepare and how to have them
  • Clearly defining your vision of what you need from your studio parents
  • Applying Suzuki philosophical strategies in teacher-parent interactions
  • Creating a clear and vision-oriented set of studio policies
  • Graceful endings/Studio exits
  • Parent-to-parent mentoring and growing a proactive parent volunteer base
  • Practice consultations
  • Resources for teachers re: working with parents

A portion of Ms. Bylander-Montzka’s fee will be donated to the Los Angeles Suzuki Institute.
