Cursos de Capacitación en Instrumentos
Abordan los pasos para la enseñanza del repertorio Suzuki según el nivel correspondiente: pasos técnicos en el instrumento, ejercicios preparatorios, estrategias de trabajo y estudio en casa, clases grupales, trabajo con padres y creación de comunidad. Todos los cursos de instrumento a partir del Libro 2 tienen un espacio de “Estrategias de la Enseñanza” donde se busca mejorar el arte de la enseñanza en un ambiente de apoyo y confianza. Se practicará la habilidad de auto crítica para identificar sus fortalezas y debilidades. Es como un “mini practicum”.

Requisitos-
100% Asistencia- Haber aprobado Filosofía- Tocar el libro completo de memoria- A partir del libro 2, traer un video de una clase modelo (máx 10 min)- Haber aprobado audición- Tener vigente las membrecías de la SAA y de su país, de no existir, ser miembro “amigo” de la ASP.

Trainer Information

Sharon Miller

Sharon Miller lives and teaches in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. She teaches violin and viola lessons for children and adults in Eastern Mennonite University’s Preparatory Music Program where she was the Program’s Director for nearly 30 years. During that time she helped to forge a partnership with Harrisonburg City Public Schools in order to provide string education in curricular and extra curricular classes. She also started and conducted the Junior Strings ensemble at EMU.

A registered Suzuki Violin Teacher Trainer, she has led teacher workshops throughout the US and in 2020 had the privilege of working with Latin American teachers at the Suzuki International Festival in Lima, Peru.

Ms. Miller was first exposed to Suzuki education in the Lynchburg City School system while studying music education at Liberty University. She received her M.Ed. (music) from Towson State University and M.M. (Suzuki Pedagogy) from East Carolina University.
