This interactive class is for all interested teachers, parents, and administrators, and serves as the first course to become a registered Suzuki teacher. There are no prerequisites for this course.
Please be sure to bring lunch or snacks for our breaks. Please bring a pen/pencil. A workbook will be provided. You do not need to bring your instrument.
Event DescriptionEvery Child Can! an introductory course on the Suzuki philosophy and its application to education. For parents, teachers, prospective teachers and others, this course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning. For teachers, ECC serves as the first course in the Suzuki Association of the Americas Teacher Development Program. To learn more, read about the ECC course and its guidelines.

Trainer Information
Now going on her 26th year as Executive Director of the Suzuki School of Newton,Sachiko Isihara is a pianist by training earning her Bachelor’s in Piano Performance at New England Conservatory and a Master’s in Piano Performance at Juilliard. She has been a member of SAA since 1984. Her Suzuki training includes being a Kenkyusei in Matsumoto in 1993 and a long term apprenticeship with Colette Daltier in France. Sachiko has completed European Suzuki Level 5. In 2008, she became an SAA Suzuki Piano Teacher Trainer. In 2009 Sachiko became the director of Suzuki By the Green Piano Institute held in Newton, MA. She has served on the Newton Cultural Alliance Board of Directors since 2013, serving as Clerk. She was a 2014 participant of the CAELI Leadership Institute held by the National Guild for Community Arts Education and in 2018 earned the Guild’s Milestone Award.
