Trainer Information

Kari Lapins

Kari Lapins started violin at 8 in the Suzuki Method in Flagstaff, Arizona. She holds a BA in Performing Arts Management (Columbia College Chicago) and an MM in Violin Performance/Suzuki Pedagogy (Northern Arizona University). She studied violin with Ruth Giauque, Louise Scott, and Phyllis Sanders. She studied Suzuki Pedagogy with Louise Scott, Karin Hallberg, Sue Baer, and Julia Hardie. She became a Music Mind Games Teacher Trainer for Unit 1 in 2014 and has trained extensively with creator, Michiko Yurko.
Kari moved to Knoxville in 2016 with her husband, daughter, dogs, and cats. She teaches violin/viola, fiddle, group class, and Music Mind Games. She performs with Oak Ridge Symphony and the Irish session.
In Flagstaff, she taught violin/viola, group, fiddle, and Music Mind Games for NAU Academy, Suzuki in the Schools at Marshall Elementary, performed with Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra, Slugs from Space Quartet, and hosted a weekly Irish session.
