Trainer Information

Alice Kay Kanack

Alice Kay Kanack, nicknamed “Mozart’s Mother” by Dr. Suzuki at a conference in 1984 for her work developing creative ability in children, earned her BM in composition and viola performance from the Eastman School of Music in 1985. She trained in Suzuki pedagogy in the US with Kay Collier Slone and with Dr. Suzuki in Japan. She is the founder of the Creative Ability Development Movement and author of the Creative Ability Development Series of books and CDs including the recently released Improvising String Quartets, Basslines and Fantasies, and Playing From The Heart available through Creative Ability Development Press and Alfred publishing. She is also the Executive Director of the Kanack School of Musical Artistry in Rochester, NY. She is sought after as a lecturer, keynote speaker, and teacher trainer internationally, most recently traveling to the Sibelius Academy in Finland and the Borealis Group in Canada.
