Event Description

Every Child Can! logoEvery Child Can! is a one day introductory course on the Suzuki philosophy and its application to education. For parents, teachers, prospective teachers and others, this course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning. For teachers, ECC serves as the first course in the Suzuki Association of the Americas Teacher Development Program. To learn more, read about the ECC course and its guidelines.

This course will take place at the Unitarian Universalist Church of the South Hills, 1240 Washington Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15228. It is going to be eligible for Continuing Education Credit for public school music teachers through the Allegheny Intermediate Unit, a division of the Pennsylvania State Board of Education.

Katherine Monsour Barley

Katherine Monsour Barley, better known as Kiki, has been involved in Suzuki education for more than 35 years as a piano teacher, teacher trainer, Suzuki parent, workshop and institute clinician, director of a Suzuki school (Pittsburgh Music Academy), and director of the Greater Pittsburgh Suzuki Institute. She teaches about 50 piano students each week and does apprenticeship training as well as short-term courses.
