Event Description

Every Child Can! an introductory course on the Suzuki philosophy and its application to education. For parents, teachers, prospective teachers and others, this course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning. For teachers, ECC serves as the first course in the Suzuki Association of the Americas Teacher Development Program. To learn more, read about the ECC course and its guidelines.

Trainer Information

Denise Willey is an SAARegistered Teacher Trainer, and has served the Suzuki Association of Utah for 30 years. She created the “I LOVE to Read Music!” reading method, and authored “Easy Steps to Music Reading.” Teaching orchestra for 45 years, she founded the Lyceum Chamber Ensemble in 1987, which performed at ASTA Conferences. Her students have been principals with SYOA. She was selected ‘97Studio Music Teacher of the Year by the Utah Chapter of ASTA, & has presented at dozens of ASTA & Suzuki Conferences & Institutes. Suzuki mother of six children, all of whom have received national recognition for their playing, including Viola Professor at Brigham Young Univ-ID, 1st place at the ASTA ‘09 Nat’l Solo Competition, all six in Nat’l High School Honors Orchestra, and principals in Orchestra at Temple Square, are all string teachers themselves.
