Participants must have completed the ECC course, be an active SAA member and provide an SAA audition befoer enrolling.
Please contact the SAA for specific instructions. Also, check due dates for audition recordings.

There is scholarship money available Through the SAA. Please check to see which category you may be eligible for.

We are offering University credit for the course. Please contact the institute director if you are interested,

Prerequisite course:

Every Child Can!, or Filosofía

Audition: Violin Basic, or Violin Intermediate, or Violin Comprehensive, or Viola Basic, or Viola Intermediate, or Viola Comprehensive.

Trainer Information

Kathleen Spring

Kathleen Spring, a 1974 graduate of Walla Walla University, has also studied at the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst, Vienna with Eduard Melkus and with Alan Bodman at Washington State University. She received a M.Mus. in Violin performance with James Maurer from the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver.
Honors include the ASTA Outstanding Studio Teacher Award for Washington State,1996. Con Brio, her Jr. Hi. string ensemble performed at the Washington MENC convention, 1998. Currently, the studio’s advanced performance group, Spring String, performs in the Denver Metro area and tours regionally and internationally.
A registered Teacher Trainer, Kathleen teaches workshops in North America and has guest taught in both Europe and Asia. She also teaches Suzuki Violin Pedagogy at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music and until July of 2021 maintained an active studio.
