What

Advanced Suzuki Institute 2017: Cello, Viola, Violin

Event Description

The Advanced Suzuki Institute at Stanford provides an opportunity for advanced and advancing Suzuki and traditional students to deepen their skills, guided by an internationally acclaimed faculty in a supportive and motivational environment. Throughout the five days on the Stanford campus, students will receive daily one on one guidance in master class settings along with technique classes, orchestra, pop/rock/jazz with two time grammy award winner Mads Tolling, optional musicianship with composer Michael McLean, and either a repertoire class or our chamber music program.

The program is open to violin, viola, and bass students in Book 4—10 and above and cello students in Book 3—10 and above.  An online teacher recommendation from your private teacher helps assure each student receives proper class placement.  Non Suzuki students are also welcome to participate if they meet the criteria for and participate in the Chamber Music Program.

We offer a Young Siblings Program for siblings of enrolled students who do not meet the Advanced Program enrollment requirements. The Young Siblings Program is open to the first 12 applicants, as the majority of the program is reserved for advanced students.
