Violin Revisiting Unit 1

Event Description

The Revisiting Violin Book 1 course is designed for teachers who have registered a minimum of Violin Unit 1 and have at least one year of Suzuki teaching experience. The teacher trainer for this course will be Ms. Teri Einfeldt, from the Hartt School Community Division, University of Hartford.

The objective is to strengthen and update one’s teaching by approaching the repertoire and its concepts from a fresh perspective. Discussions cover the application of the Suzuki philosophy, teaching points in Book 1, layering of skills, addressing the challenges of the beginning student, and more.

The format of the course includes lecture, small group discussion, student observation, possible role-playing, and playing demonstration of the teaching points and concepts.

Entrance Requirements:
- Suzuki teachers who have completed or registered for ECC! and Violin Unit 1 (or 1A and 1B)
- Suzuki teachers who have taught for at least one year.

Fee: $350.00

Dates: The course will be held on two weekends: March 4th and 5th & April 1st and 2nd, 2017. On Saturdays, the class will meet from 3-7:30pm. On Sundays, the meetings will be from 9:30am-2pm.

Trainer Information

Teri Einfeldt is chair of the Suzuki department and adjunct professor at the University of Hartford’s The Hartt School An SAA registered teacher trainer, Teri is a frequent clinician at workshops and institutes throughout the United States Teri has taught at International Conferences in Australia, Italy, and Japan.
