Event Description

Course Description: This class will cover the materials in Volumes 9 and 10, plus additional materials appropriate for students at this level.  These materials will include technical studies, scales, and optional pieces.  8 hours of observation are required.

Prerequisite: 
Every Child Can!, Violin or Viola Book One, Violin or Viola Book Two

Audition: 
Violin Comprehensive  (S.A.A. audition guidelines) 

Refunds: 
Refunds are available up until 30 days before the course start date. No refunds permitted for this course after December 12, 2016. There are no refunds given for registrants who do not complete the course prerequisites or audition requirement if the refund request is made after the refund deadline. Registrants who have not completed the course prerequisites and audition requirement by the first day of the course will continue to participate as auditors. Auditors observe the class but do not fully participate. Auditors will not have this course registered with the SAA as completed.

Prerequisite course:

Viola Unit 3, or Violin Unit 3

Audition: Violin Comprehensive.

Deadline: All audition materials must be submitted by December 29 *

Trainer Information

Thomas Wermuth

Thomas Wermuth has been an active teacher in the Suzuki Method for the past thirty-five years at many institutes and workshops throughout the world. In 2007 he was recognized by the United States Department of Education and was given the Presidential Scholars Mentors Award at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. His background includes 15 years with the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony Orchestra, Canadian Chamber Ensemble, and private studio teaching. For the past twenty years he has been on the faculty at the Western Springs School of Talent Education in the Chicagoland area. In addition to teaching, Tom is a graduate of the Barbara Brennan School of Healing.
