Every Child Can! logoEvery Child Can! is a one day introductory course on the Suzuki philosophy and its application to education. For parents, teachers, prospective teachers and others, this course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning. For teachers, ECC serves as the first course in the Suzuki Association of the Americas Teacher Development Program. To learn more, read about the ECC course and its guidelines.

Piedmont Suzuki will host Every Child Can on Sunday, Dec 4, 2016. The course will run in Winston-Salem, NC from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a one hour lunch break. The course is open to everyone (all instrumentalists, vocalists, educators, parents or interested individuals). No instruments are needed and materials will be provided. ECC is the introductory course in the Suzuki Method sponsored by the Suzuki Association of the Americas. The 6 hour course explores the philosophy and teaching methods of Shinichi Suzuki and modern teachers of the method. It is particularly useful for teachers or aspiring teachers who might want to pursue additional training in the Suzuki Method. The course is registered as a credential with the Suzuki Association and serves as the required introductory course for people who later choose to continue with the longer, instrument-specific training sessions.

Joseph Pecoraro

Joseph Pecoraro is widely recognized as a performer, recording artists, author and teacher. He has performed as soloist with numerous orchestras and vocal ensembles, collaborated with dozens of prominent singers and instrumentalists, and given solo recital across the United States and abroad. Pecoraro currently serves as a member of the artist faculty at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and directs the Piedmont Suzuki Young Guitarists program in Winston-Salem, NC. Previous teaching positions include Salem College, Indiana University, and the University of Colorado. He is in frequent demand as a guest clinician, and serves on the regular faculties of summer workshops in Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, and North Carolina, where he directs the UNCSA Summer Guitar Workshop. He has taught guitar pedagogy courses as well as young students using the Suzuki method for nearly 20 years and is a registered teacher trainer in guitar with the SAA.
