Event Description

Every Child Can! logoEvery Child Can! an introductory course on the Suzuki philosophy and its application to education. For parents, teachers, prospective teachers and others, this course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning. For teachers, ECC serves as the first course in the Suzuki Association of the Americas Teacher Development Program. To learn more, read about the ECC course and its guidelines.

Priority will be given to University of Michigan (music majors) who wish to take the course. University students will be charged $30 to attend the course. Non-university students will be charged $120. Class will be held from 9am-4:30pm, with a 90-minute break for lunch at 11:30am. Classroom location is University of Michigan, Earl V. Moore Building, 1100 Baits Dr, Ann Arbor, MI 48109, Room 2058. Registration is currently open for non-university students.

Trainer Information

Andrea Yun

Andrea Yun currently teaches cello privately in Ann Arbor and performs with the Michigan Opera Theatre. Andrea has served on faculty at the University of Michigan, University of Texas at San Antonio, and Bowling Green State University. Andrea has taught public school orchestra at the high school and middle school level. She has been a guest at many institutes, workshops, and camps, such as Blue Lake Suzuki Family Camp, DFW-WOW Institute, and the Nashville Suzuki Institute. Andrea received a dual bachelor’s degree in music education and mathematics from Indiana University; a master’s degree in cello performance from Indiana University; and a doctorate in cello performance and pedagogy from the University of Michigan. Andrea’s solo performances have been heard on Canadian Broadcast Corporation (CBC) Radio. Andrea was awarded the honor of Teacher of the Year in 2020 by the Michigan chapter of ASTA, and is a Teacher Trainer through the SAA.
