Event Description

The Suzuki Association of Georgia is pleased to welcome Teri Einfeldt to Atlanta for a teacher workshop on developing excellence at each stage of a Suzuki violin student’s learning. The two-day workshop will focus on practical teaching ideas for developing violin skills and musical knowledge, and will also address issues that may arise when teaching beginning, intermediate, and advanced students. Topics and activities will include:

• The impact and importance of the Pre-Twinkle experience as this stage of development sets up the foundation for future learning. The workshop will include a review of Pre-Twinkle teaching ideas for the right and left hands, which will lead to discussion of developing excellence at every level.
• Taking stock of the intermediate student’s understanding of general musical concepts to ensure that he/she is a well-rounded musician and respected contributor in both the Suzuki and traditional worlds.
• Playing through some selections from the SAA’s new Supplementary List for Violin Books 6-8 and discussing the pitfalls, teaching points, and hierarchy in the repertoire.
• Discussion of questions or issues that arise in day-to-day teaching. Please submit questions in advance to: [javascript protected email address]
