Event Description
The class will have 15 hours of seminar class with Mrs. Preucil tracing technique backwards from Veracini Sonata to the twinkles so that teachers may better develop solid skills in their students from the beginning. In addition, the Mazas and Kreutzer studies (Schimer Ed. preferred) and her new shifting book, Meditative Moments will be used.
The course requires 8 hours of observations. 3 hours of masterclasses taught by Doris Preucil will be included as part of the 8 hours. The remaining observation will occur at the institute.
Prerequisite:

Audition: Violin Basic, or Violin Intermediate, or Violin Comprehensive, or Viola Basic, or Viola Intermediate, or Viola Comprehensive.

Trainer Information
Doris Preucil is the founder and Director Emeritus of the Preucil School of Music. She is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music, and was a violinist in the National Symphony. She has served on the faculties of Western Illinois University and The University of Northern Iowa. A Suzuki teacher since 1963, she is a Past President and Teacher Trainer of the SAA, the author of the Suzuki Viola School, and a founding member of the International Suzuki Association.
