Event Description
This class will cover the literature in Book 7, technical studies and reading materials for this level. We will also discuss ideas for teaching transfer students who may need remedial work. 8 hours of observation are required by the SAA; 5 hours of observation can be done through uploaded videos and 3 hours will be done live.
The course will meet on Mondays from 10am to 1pm beginning on January 11, 2016; the remaining 4 class dates will be set at the first class.

Trainer Information
Nancy Jackson is the Assistant Director of the Western Springs School of Talent Education, in Western Springs, Illinois, where she teaches both violin and viola. She is a registered Violin Teacher Trainer with the Suzuki Association of the Americas, and is active in training young teachers locally and at summer institutes. Nancy holds a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Music in Violin Performance from Northwestern University. Nancy has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement from the SAA, and in 2017 was named Outstanding Studio Teacher by Illinois ASTA. She founded the Suzuki School of Music in Bismarck, North Dakota, in 1986. She has also taught at the University of Evansville (IN) Suzuki program, and Western Illinois University. Nancy is an avid golfer and cyclist, and also enjoys spending time with her two cats, Mimi and Musetta.
