Cello Group Class Fellowship

Event Description
The group class fellowship is designed for experienced group class teachers wishing to improve their group teaching through the opportunity to teach at a internationally recognized Suzuki cello institute. Participants will collaborate with Carey Hockett and each other to teach a 5 day group class of students. Daily consultation and observation hours will be part of the course.
Pre-Requisites:
- Completed training through book 10
- Completed a group class teaching course with an SAA registered trainer
Application should include:
- Resume
- 15 min. sample video of the applicant teaching group lessons to same group of students on multiple occasions (eg. 3 videos 5 minutes each of consecutive lessons).

Trainer Information
Carey Beth Hockett has been actively involved in the Suzuki world for more than 40 years. She taught at the Ithaca Talent Education School and then for the London Suzuki Group and is now on the faculty of the Colburn School in Los Angeles. She was a member of the International Suzuki Association’s Cello Committee and served as repertoire consultant to the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music in England and the Royal Conservatory in Toronto. She teaches string pedagogy at the Colburn Conservatory and is the Director of the schools’ Jumpstart String Program.
