Event Description

Suzuki Music Columbus offers quality instruction, in a relaxed, family-friendly environment, with a long tradition of presenting well directed programs for students of all levels, and Suzuki Teacher Training. Otterbein University and Suzuki Music Columbus have partnered to offer a beautiful college campus environment. The Summer Institute June 9—14, 2014 is for Suzuki families as well as advanced traditional students on violin, viola, cello, and bass. Suzuki Teacher Training courses are offered in violin during the summer Institute, with opportunities to work with and observe the Summer Institute faculty. Teacher Training Courses are offered June 7-15, 2014.

We offer:

Student programs in violin, viola, cello for Suzuki families as well as advanced traditional students.
Student program for High School aged bass players
Four levels of student programs for all ages.
Music literacy classes for all levels
Daily Concerts with Performance opportunities in solo recitals, as well as group concerts for all students
Alternative Styles Enrichment Classes of Rock Styles, Fiddle, Jazz Improvisation, Chamber Music, and Theater
Ensemble opportunities include four orchestras
On-campus housing and meals available
Teen Dorm for ages 12 and above.
Social activities include a midweek “Fun-day afternoon” that opens with a Group Concert, followed by games, relay races, squirt gun fights, a Fiddle contest, Rock-out & Jazz jam.
Suzuki Teacher Training courses
A program concurrent with the Suzuki Institute offering a program of study for traditional students entering ninth grade or older in the Fall.
