Event Description
Enjoy your summer Suzuki adventure in Cajun Country! The Acadiana Suzuki Institute (ASI) is held at the Episcopal School of Acadiana. The ESA campus, with its large live oak trees and landscaped quads, is a peaceful and relaxing environment for students and families.
ASI offerings include opening and closing concerts, master classes, group classes, and chamber and orchestra ensembles. Electives will include Cajun fiddling and art class. ASI is appropriate for Pre-Twinklers and Twinklers, Violin, Viola, and Cello students.
Pre-Twinklers & Twinklers will attend one session of Master Class, Technique Class, and Art Elective each day and will finish by lunchtime.
Books 1-3 (Violin, Viola & Cello) will attend one session of Master Class, Technique Class, Repertoire Class, Reading Class and an Elective each day.
Books 4+ (Violin) will attend one session of Master Class, Technique Class, Repertoire Class, Ensemble Class and an Elective each day.
Books 4+ (Cello) will attend one session of Master Class, Technique Class, Repertoire Class, Ensemble Class and an Elective each day.
The Cajun fiddling elective will be led by local musicians who play Cajun music for local, national and international audiences.
The art elective will be taught by local artist Bonnie Camos. Ms. Bonnie taught the art elective at the 2013 Acadiana Suzuki Institute and is excited to work with Suzuki students again.
