Every Child Can! logoEvery Child Can! an introductory course on the Suzuki philosophy and its application to education. For parents, teachers, prospective teachers and others, this course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning. For teachers, ECC serves as the first course in the Suzuki Association of the Americas Teacher Development Program. To learn more, read about the ECC course and its guidelines.

This course is an introduction to Dr. Suzuki’s philosophy and its application to Suzuki education developed by the Suzuki Association for the Americas (SAA). For parents, teachers of all instruments, perspective teachers and others, this new course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning. This course includes an introduction to learning styles, history of the development of Suzuki education, the role of parents, the importance of Suzuki pedagogical training and an overview of the SAA’s role in supporting teachers and parents.

A prerequisite for Suzuki Piano Teacher Training Unit 1, this class is also strongly recommended for parents of all Suzuki students.

Trainer Information

Joan Krzywicki

Joan Krzywicki earned a BME degree from Indiana University where she carried a second major in piano performance. She also has a master’s degree from Youngstown State University in Ohio. Joan became a Teacher Trainer for the SAA in 1993. She maintains a private studio in her home and also does teacher training at Temple University in Philadelphia. Joan is nationally certified by the Music Teachers National Association. She has been a guest clinician and teacher trainer at workshops and Institutes in the US, Canada, England, Sweden, and Argentina. Her students have earned the highest honors at both local and statewide festivals. Joan was the piano coordinator for the 2010 SAA conference, and she recently served on the SAA Board of Directors.
