{"id":248801,"name":"Daniel Shaver","url":"","description":"www.danielshaver.com<\/a>\n\u200bBorn and raised in Honolulu, Daniel Shane Kawai`ae`a Shaver is a graduate student at the University of Hawaii pursuing\u00a0a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Secondary Education and a Master of Arts degree in Music Education. Previous studies include at the University of Oregon, where Daniel studied violin and advanced violin pedagogy with Kathryn Lucktenberg and Kevin Lefohn, and Suzuki pedagogy with Lillie Manis. Daniel is currently employed as the assistant to both orchestra teachers at the Kamehameha Schools Kap\u0101lama Campus, where he teaches private violin and viola lessons and runs an after school orchestra program. Daniel also is the resident violin teacher for the Coraggio Studio, where his students regularly participate in recitals, festivals, and competitions.\nDaniel’s music education started at the age of eight when he started taking private violin lessons. He continued his studies at the\u00a0Kamehameha Schools Kap\u0101lama Campus, where he was the concertmaster of the Kamehameha Schools Sinfonietta and Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Robert Hamilton.\u00a0As concertmaster, Daniel led the orchestra during their tour of Vienna, Salzburg, and Graz as part of the 2009 International Haydn Festival. In high school, Daniel was also a member of the Hawaii Youth Symphony I under the direction of Mr. Henry Miyamura, where he served as the Associate Principal Second Violin.\nDaniel’s solo appearances include with the Kamehameha Sinfonietta, the Emerald Chamber Orchestra, and the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival Orchestra, and has performed on stage with the University of Oregon Symphony Orchestra, the University of Hawaii Symphony Orchestra, and Hawaii Festival Orchestra as a member of the orchestra. Daniel has experience performing in other genres and has appeared on stage with Cecilio and Kapono, Keali`i Reichel, Willie K, Ho`okena, and Jimmy Borges.\nAn active researcher in musician health and injury prevention, Daniel’s thesis\u00a0Brahms, Schumann, and Focal Dystonia\u00a0presents cases of famous musicians who suffer from Focal Dystonia and gives strengthening and retraining exercises that may help violinists who suffer from the condition. A committee of University of Oregon School of Music and Dance and Robert D.
