SUMMARY:Cello Unit 2
DESCRIPTION:Join dynamic teacher-trainer Dr. Shu-Yi Scott for an incredible week of learning Suzuki Cello Unit 2. \nThis course will be offered in dual-delivery mode\, so it will be possible to attend fully in-person or fully online. \nSuzuki Book 2 Teacher Training (Violin or Cello Unit 2) is an intensive\, pedagogically focused course designed for teachers working with students transitioning into the intermediate stages of Suzuki study. Offered over eight days in conjunction with the student institute\, the training provides approximately 28 instructional hours led by registered Suzuki Teacher Trainers and includes extensive observation of master teachers in action. The course explores in depth the teaching points and learning sequences for Book 2 repertoire\, with emphasis on developing expanded bowing techniques\, early shifting skills\, and the introduction of vibrato and tonalization. Throughout the training\, instruction is firmly grounded in Suzuki philosophy\, addressing how to nurture ability\, maintain student motivation\, and effectively engage parents at this critical stage of development. Building on the foundations of Every Child Can and Book 1 training\, Unit 2 equips teachers with practical\, adaptable strategies and a deeper musical understanding to confidently guide students through the technical and expressive demands of Suzuki Book 2. \nFaculty: Dr. Shu-Yi Scott is a sought-after Suzuki cello teacher trainer and international workshop clinician\, known for her dynamic teaching style\, clear pedagogical strategies\, and ability to connect with students and teachers of all levels. A member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas Teacher Development Committee (2023–2025)\, she brings a wealth of insight\, experience\, and warmth to every teaching environment. \nYou must be logged in to your SAA account and have Active Membership to join the course roster below.  \nScroll down to the bottom of this page to the enrollment box\, click “+”\, then click “get tickets”. Follow the prompts to enter your payment information to pay the nonrefundable deposit fee.   \nYou will receive an email confirmation after signing up with instructions on how to pay the balance of the tuition.  You can also verify your enrollment from your profile under Upcoming Courses. \nIf the enrollment box isn’t visible and you only see the waitlist option\, it means you’re missing either an audition or a course prerequisite on your training profile.
