SAA Annual Membership Meeting

The SAA annual Membership Meeting will take place at the Hilton Minneapolis on Saturday, May 28, 8:30 AM. The Annual Meeting is an opportunity to learn more about your Suzuki organization.

Teacher Location Service: did you know?

One benefit of an active SAA membership is the option of adding your name to the Teacher Location Service (TLS). This is an elective benefit and teachers may set their public profile to have as much or as little information posted as they wish (i.e., name, phone, location, email, bio, picture, registered training, etc.).  Not all SAA members opt to be listed, as its intent is to provide names of teachers wishing to add more students. It differs from the Online Member Directory in that the TLS is viewable by the public, whereas the Member Directory includes all members and is only available to view by other members. If you haven’t visited (or anytime you would like to use) the Online Member Directory, click here.

Please note that if your membership lapses, you must sign up for the TLS again, even if you were previously listed. To add your name, log into your SAA web account and go to Teacher Location Service.

Chapters come alive!

Each month we will be featuring news from one of our chapter affiliates. For January, we have updates from the Suzuki Association of Georgia. Read more from SAGA President Rachael Fischer and also click here for information about Chapter Affiliates and how to become a Chapter Affiliate of the Suzuki Association of the Americas.

Humor from the Suzuki Studio

Have a funny Suzuki-related story? We would love to hear from you! Tell us your story or view and add to our “Friday Funnies” on Facebook, and your story may appear in a future SAA comic. Of course, please keep it clean and respectful. We’re not here to laugh at the expense of anyone involved! Please omit individuals’ last names, and change first names if you wish.

Get Involved!

Suzuki Principles in Action (SPA) Course

This two day, cross-instrumental course is designed to help teachers incorporate Suzuki’s principles effectively in their teaching. The inspiration for SPA came from a need, identified by both Trainers and Teacher Workshop Participants, to deal with the challenges of implementing the knowledge gained from unit courses into the reality of day-to-day studio teaching. Consider hosting a course or make plans to attend one currently scheduled: February 3-4 (Ottawa, ON), March 4-5 (Holland, MI), March 5-6 (Chicago, IL), April 1-2 (Salt Lake City, UT), and April 2-3 (Minneapolis, MN).

Article Submissions

Is there a Suzuki-related subject you wish we’d cover more in the ASJ, newsletter, or blog? Or have you written an article that you would like published? If you are interested in submitting a Suzuki-related article, please see the Manuscript Guidelines or email us at for more information.
