Does anyone know if there are opus numbers available for compositions found in the Suzuki books? I am particularly interested in finding the full version of the sheet music and a recording for Vivaldi Concerto in G minor from Book 5. Is this piece originally for violin?

I don’t know of any single source.

Why not brouse this website? I bet you’ll find everything you need.

The Vivaldi g minor is indeed originally for violin, and the Suzuki version is the “full version.” You may find a version with different editing (bowings, for instance), but the Book 5 is the real thing.
I have a recording of it, but it is just a cheap $1 no-name CD from Wal-Mart or K-Mart or such.

Bk. 5 Vivalid is Op. 12, No. 1

I checked the CLASSICAL MUSIC ARCHIVES which I mentioned earlier.

I’ll let you do the rest.

Thank you Gabriel! I found the information on the web site you suggested.
The piece’s proper name seems to be:

Vivaldi Concerto in G minor for Violin, Strings and Basso Continuo, Op. 12, No. 1, RV 317

I also found a recording of it on iTunes. The album is called:
Vivaldi Famous Concerti by Capella Istropolitana & Jaroslav Kr(E)Cek
1990 Naxos records.
The piece also appears to have 3 movements: Allegro, Adagio, Allegro

Best regards,

All three movements are in Book 5, and labeled correctly.
