Do you have any good violin teacher recommendation in HOng KOng? My 2 yo daughter is taking suzuki violin lesson and I am in the midst of stopping with my current teacher and find a new teacher. Is it necessary that I learn from the Suzuki books or any violin books will do?

Unless your 2-year old is extremely academically advanced for her age, I wouldn’t use anything for that age of student EXCEPT Suzuki. Not just the books, but the entire philosophy—so it is important to find either a Suzuki teacher who truly teaches according to “mother tongue theory”, or a non-Suzuki teacher who happens to teach this way by coincidence (such teachers do exist).

What you should avoid entirely is any teacher that will force music reading at this age.

Are you just looking for a teacher for yourself? Can your daughter’s teacher give you lessons?
