Hello Everyone. If you get a chance to watch the music education documentary Tocat y Luchar, please do so. The website of the film is http://www.tocaryluchar.com where you will find a schedule of screenings throughout the world. The US premier is in LA this november during the festival AFIFEST.

The documentary follows the story of the Venezuelan Youth Orchestra system, considered by many to be the most successful youth orchestra program in the world. The film includes performances and appearances by many of today’s top musicians including Placido Domingo, Claudio Abado, Sir Simon Rattle, and the young conducting sensation Gustavo Dudamel. You can view the trailer of the documentary at the website.

For people who will not get the chance to see the film at one of the many screenings, the DVD is also for sale at the film’s website.

This is a great tool to promote music education!

The dvd is now available on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000JLL4LY

although it is still cheaper at http://www.tocaryluchar.com

If you are a music teacher or member of any music education organization that does fundraisers, contact the company (http://www.explorart.com). They are working on a program to let music programs at the school level and other NGOs sell the dvd as a fundraiser.

Cheers.
