Next year I’m planning on joining/renewing memberships with:

SAA
NTSA (North Texas Suzuki Association)
MTNA (Music Teachers National Association)
TMTA (Texas Music Teachers Association)
CMTA (my local MTNA chapter)

All those come to a grand total of $200! YIKES!

I had a really poor experience with the ASTA. I got SOOOOO much mail (and still do, even though it has been four years). They didn’t offer insurance in my area, and the journals and classes seemed geared almost exclusively for public school or advanced-level teaching. Maybe later this will be a good choice for me. For now, the SAA is what I need (and love and look forward to receiving journals from).
