Find someone who has really good students, then find out if they relate to kids well. Talk to other parents about their experience with the teacher concerning practice expectations, etc. Research the teacher’s training. If you do all these things, you should be able to make a good decision.

I agree with Barbara. not all of experienced music teachers can relate effectively with kids. That’s so much important since they can contribute to child enthusiasm or reluctance for the rest of their musical life.
besides try to find a teacher near to your living location so you can participate with your kid in the class easily.
