I was reading recently (from the album notes of her new CD) that Rachel Barton Pine was inspired to play Paganini as a young child by listening to a recording from Itzhak Perlman over and over and dreaming of playing it one day. I know Perlman was a personal music hero for me as a child too. Who inspired you to play or learn music? Who inspires your own children?
