Hello Teachers, Every once in a while this comes up, and when it has, I have felt uncertain how to respond . What do you do or say if a young student (within age 5—7) says they love you?

You melt, say, “Aw, THANKS!” and give em a big hug with: “You’re the best!” OR “I’m so glad to have you as my student!”

Happy moment—soak in the sweet affections of these little ones! You’ve earned i
t, and that’s no small thing. =)

You’ve made a difference in a child’s life. Take it as a sweet compliment, and say “thank you!”
